Buckeyes Add Another Transfer

Following the departure of Luther Muhammad, who entered the transfer portal yesterday, Chris Holtmann and his staff got the news today that Bucknell point guard Jimmy Sotos will play his final year in Columbus. Sotos, a 6’3”, 195 pound guard averaged 8.1 points, 4 assists and 3.4 rebounds over three seasons for the Bison and will have to sit out the upcoming season due to transfer rules. He chose the Buckeyes over Gonzaga, Xavier, Butler and others. He will join incoming freshman Meechie Johnson as the two point guards running the show for the 21-22 season after the departure of C.J. Walker who will have exhausted his eligibility after next season. The Buckeyes still have one scholarship remaining and potentially two if Kaleb Wesson does not return to school after testing the NBA waters. I could see Coach Holtmann looking to the portal for a one-year grad transfer to add some depth in the backcourt immediately. Stay tuned as the college basketball landscape is always changing.
