Buckeyes Land 2025 Point Guard Myles Herro

OSU Basketball

The Ohio State Buckeyes added to their backcourt depth today with the commitment of 2025 point guard Myles Herro. The 6’3″, 165-pound guard from Milwaukee, Wisconsin announced he will join the Buckeyes as a freshman for the 2025-26 season.

A three-star prospect, Herro is rated as the 40th-best point guard in the country and the No. 10 overall player in Wisconsin, according to national recruiting services. He is the younger brother of Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, who was drafted 13th overall after one season at Kentucky.

Herro’s commitment comes as Ohio State’s previous guard signee, Dorian Jones, announced he will spend a year at prep school to address an academic situation and will not enroll this season.

During his senior year at Milwaukee Whitnall High School, Herro posted impressive numbers—averaging 22 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game en route to First Team All-Conference honors.

With the Buckeyes returning Bruce Thornton, Gabe Cupps, and Taison Chatman, Herro is expected to begin his college career in a reserve role. He will likely use the 2025-26 season as a developmental year, learning from the veteran guards and preparing for an expanded role in the years to come.

Herro becomes the latest piece of head coach Jake Diebler’s evolving roster. With two scholarship spots remaining, sources indicate that one will be used on a European wing, with an announcement expected soon.
