We are now 2 days away from the third game of the season for Ohio State, as they take on Marshall. Here are our top 3 bold predictions we would like to see happen during the game. Feel free to share and comment on your own bold predictions!
1. Jeremiah Smith scores 2 touchdowns.
The freshman wide receiver has been as advertised and more in the first two games of the season, and maybe the Western Michigan 70 yard touchdown might be his Eddie George photo of his career. Marshall should be a step up in competition for the Buckeyes, so it will be interesting to see if defensively they will try and double the freshman, but with so much talent at the other wider receiver positions, I think Jeremiah Smith still gets his numbers and is a big part of the offense.
2. The Defense has 2 Interceptions.
They type of offense that Marshall likes to play might open up the passing game more for the Silver Bullets to defend, and I think that provides more opportunities for the defense to get interceptions. I think the pressure too that the front 4 has provided will also cause Marshall’s QB to rush his throws which could lead to fortunate mistakes.
3. Ohio State Scores on its First Drive.
Ohio State and Marshall both had a bye week leading up to this game so I anticipate both teams will show some new wrinkles on both sides of the ball. I think Ryan Day and Chip Kelly still want to be aggressive. I think scoring on their first few drives to set the tone will help put this game away early.
