Ohio State will begin their 2021 season on the road against Big Ten opponent Minnesota on Thursday September 2nd, and look to pursue their 5th straight Big Ten Championship as well as a 3rd straight College Football Playoff Appearance. Head Coach Ryan Day has had tremendous success already his first two seasons with having gone undefeated in the regular season both years, and his two loses coming in the College Football Playoff against Clemson in the semi-final (2019) and Alabama in the national championship game (2020). He understands the expectations on him which is set by the Scarlet and Gray faithful, but also himself and the coaching staff. 

The Buckeyes were only able to play 8 games total last year due to the adjustments due to COVID, and are expecting to play a full 12 game regular season this year in front of a full capacity Horseshoe. They have a marquee non-conference match up with Oregon, who Ohio State will host on September 11th for their home opener. They close the regular season at Michigan, who ware set to play each other after The Game was cancelled last season due to Michigan’s rising COVID numbers in the athletic program. Outside of their division and previously mentioned Minnesota, Ohio State will play Nebraska and Purdue as their cross divisional conference games. Ohio State will also host Tulsa and Akron as their remaining 2 non-conference games before continuing their Big Ten play.
