We are now 2 days away from the second game of the season for Ohio State, as they take on Western Michigan. Here are our top 3 bold predictions we would like to see happen during the game. Feel free to share and comment on your own bold predictions!

1. Ohio State will have a Special Teams touchdown.

It did not happen last week as predicted, or hoped, but you could feel there is a change in the approach that Ohio State is implementing now with special teams despite not having a full time special teams coordinator. Brandon Innis had 60 yards on 4 returns, and everyone you held your breath thinking he was about to break loose. This might be one we keep until it happens, but you can tell from the way the players have discussed not having a return for a touchdown in 10 years is a point of emphasis.

2. Henderson and Judkins will rush for over 150 yards.

Donovan Jackson was not able to play last week at left guard, so there were 3 new offensive linemen starting for their first Ohio State game against Akron, and the running game took a slight hit because they did not get the push we had expected them to get. With an emphasis on the run game and making sure both TreVeyon and Quinshon get into a rhythm, they will have a much more productive day. 

3. Ohio State Scores on its First Drive.

Ohio State did not score on their first 3 drives last week against Akron, and that was mostly due to self-inflicted lack of execution as opposed to Akron’s defensive game plan. Chip Kelly took it on himself in this week’s press conference to make sure they get the start they want, and execution will be a key for this offense as one of their building blocks from game 1 to game 2.
