Bold Predictions: Nebraska

The Buckeyes prepare to take on the Cornhuskers for their 7th game of the season, entering week 9. Both teams are at 5 wins, and looking to become bowl eligible before the Calendar turns to November. Here are our bold predictions for the game.

1. Will Howard Passes for 300 yards.

With the injury concern to Quinshon Judkins, the Buckeyes might use the running game to help set up their passing game, and take some of the pressure of their offensive line as they are working in Austin Seireveld at left tackle. I think this will make the passing game the focus of the game plan, and we could see Ebuka and Smith both get over 100 yards, while the ball is also spread around to Tate, Gee Scott Jr, and Brandon Inniss.

2. Ohio State has 4 sacks.

Defensive line is a concern for Ohio State, especially with getting pressure with the front 4 if they are not going to be more creative with pressure schemes. I think we see new wrinkles from Jim Knowles and the Buckeyes rise to the challenge and have 4 or more sacks.

3. Ohio State starters play until the third quarter.

You would like to think that the Buckeyes are more talented than Indiana, who just ran Nebraska to the woodshed. I think if this team is serious coming off their bye week, they will take care of business quickly, and have a huge margin midway through the third quarter before pulling their starters and getting ready for Penn State next week.
