Buckeyes Land Top International Prospect

The Ohio State men’s basketball program continues to build momentum under head coach Jake Diebler, landing a major international commitment in 17-year-old German-French standout Mathieu Grujicic.

Grujicic, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound wing from Berlin, is widely considered one of the top international prospects in his class. The versatile forward most recently suited up for Barca 2, Barcelona’s fourth level of pro basketball, competing in the prestigious ANGT (Adidas Next Generation Tournament) league in Spain. He averaged 13.6 points per game while shooting a sharp 40% from three-point range this past season.

Turning 18 later this summer, Grujicic brings more than just scoring ability. Known for his excellent court vision, ball-handling skills, and polished mid-range game, the young wing has demonstrated poise beyond his years. He earned MVP honors at the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Ulm tournament and has also participated in multiple NBA-affiliated international camps—further cementing his reputation on the global stage.

With Grujicic’s commitment, the Buckeyes’ 2025-26 roster continues to take shape as a deep, competitive unit. Ohio State has one scholarship spot remaining, which they are expected to use on a veteran one-year transfer. With the returning core and impact additions, the Buckeyes could enter the season as a legitimate contender in the upper half of the Big Ten and make a much coveted return to the NCAA Tournament with hopes of a deep run.

Grujicic adds another layer of intrigue and international flair to a roster that appears to be steadily rising under Diebler’s leadership.
