Ohio State ranked No. 2 in AP Poll

The Associated Press revealed their preseason poll ahead of the 2022 season, and ranked Ohio State as the nation’s second-best team, with 6 media members having them as their top team. (Bob Asmussen, David Briggs, Joe Giglio, Kirk Bohls, Michael Lev, Ryan Pritt). They were also received 10 3rd place votes and their lowest rank was 4th by Kellis Robinett. The Buckeyes also ranked No. 2 in the Coaches Poll which was released last week, and similar to the AP Poll, are behind Alabama, and above the defending national champions Georgia. With the new preseason poll out, the opening match up against Notre Dame on September 3 will be a top 5 match up.

Ohio State leads the Big Ten in the AP Poll, ahead of Michigan (6), Michigan State (15) and Wisconsin (18), all of which Ohio State will play this year.

As stated by Eleven Warriors, before Monday’s rankings were released, Ohio State was No. 1 all-time for most weeks spent in the AP Poll with 950. The next closest program was Michigan with 887, followed by Oklahoma with 877, Notre Dame with 849 and Alabama with 841.
