Ohio State Remains 3rd, Alabama Moves Up
Ohio State took care of business on Saturday, and defeated Michigan State 38-7 to get their first road and conference win of the year. The biggest news of the weekend though was what happened around them and a few shake ups in the top 10.
Texas was tested against Mississippi State in the first half, but pulled away to win comfortable with Arch Manning in their first SEC game. Alabama defeated Georgia in what was a dramatic finish after the Crimson Tide fired out the gate with a huge lead, and after Georgia took the lead with under two minutes to go, Alabama responded with a fast score of their own and intercepted Carson Beck on the Bulldogs final drive of the game. As a result, Alabama moved up to number 2 in the coaches Poll, and 1 in the AP Poll, while Texas stayed at 1 and 2 respectively.
Ole Miss lost at home to Kentucky, who gave Georgia some troubles a few weeks ago, and Miami needed a ACC decision on an overturned touchdown that would have given Virginia Tech the win.
On another note, there are now under 20 teams undefeated through week 5, and two of those teams are 5-0 Indiana, and 5-0 Rutgers.
Other ranked Big Ten teams this week include Oregon (6th in both Polls), Penn State (7th in Both Polls), Michigan (10th in both Polls), USC (11th in AP Poll, 15th in Coaches Poll), Indiana (23rd in AP Poll, 24th in Coaches), and Illinois (24th in AP Poll, 25th in Coaches)
