The Buckeyes were off this week, for their final bye week of the season, but there were several games from the teams around them that reshaped the polls leading into week 9.

The most notable was Georgia defeating Texas, who was ranked number 1, and there are now no undefeated teams left in the SEC. With the win, Georgia moved up to 2nd place in both polls, and Oregon moved up to 1st after defeating Purdue 35-0 on Friday. Tennessee defeated Alabama, giving them their first 2 loss season before November since 2007. Illinois honored Red Grange in their game against Michigan, and defeated the Wolverines 21-7.

Big Ten teams ranked this week are Oregon (1st in both polls), Penn State (3rd in both polls), Indiana (113th in both polls), and Illinois (20th in AP, 21st in Coaches Poll).
